The development of live attenuated temperature sensitive strains of Mycoplasma gallisepticum and Mycoplasma synoviae has enabled both broiler breeder and commercial layer operations in Australia to achieve performance objectives free of the detrimental affects of mycoplasma related disease. This has occured under farming conditions that previously have been unable to achieve and maintain a mycoplasma negative status.
